Bollywood’s bengali beauty Bipasha Basu’s long delayed Hollywood project ‘The Lovers’, previously known as ‘Singularity’, is finally out with its official trailer.
‘The Lovers’, featuring ‘Pearl Harbour’ actor Josh Hartnett, Alice Englert, Tamsin Egerton and Bipasha Basu is a romantic time travel adventure film directed by Roland Joffé and written by Ajey Jhankar.
‘The Lovers’ looks like a film that deals with past and present life of Jay Fennel, played by Josh Hartnett. After a dive to save his wife Laura, played by Tamsin Egerton, Jay Fennel , who is a marine archaeologist lies brain dead in a hospital.
Fennel’s coma takes the film back in 1778. The trailer then shows The East India Company invading palaces and a young Captain named James Stewart, also played by Josh, who bears a striking resemblance to Fennel, is about to embark on a mission. While on his way, Jay comes across murder, deceit, betrayal and revenge. And then a sequence shows a Maratha warrior, Tulaja Naik, played by Bipasha Basu, with whom James Stewart deeply falls in love, an impossible love for which he must fight, and that’s how the story unfolds.
‘The Lovers’ was supposed to be screened at the 65th Annual Cannes International Festival in May 2012. However, the film got delayed and it’s scheduled to be screened at the ongoing 67th Cannes International Festival. The film is also said to have Abhay Deol.
