Box office is set to witness a storm with the release of Salman Khan's "Kick" this Friday. Being a Eid release, expectations are quite high for the film and till now it has lived up to it.
The trailer went viral, songs have got positive reactions and now the advance booking of the film has recived an overwhelming response.
A festive release with masses' favourite actor Salman in the lead and a remake of a blockbuster Telugu film with the same name, "Kick" has all the factors in its favour.
But will these factors make "Kick" one of the most successful films of Bollywood or break records of Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" and Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" at the box office.
Salman's "Jai Ho" had an average opening and mediocre box office performance, but "Kick" is set to break records starting with its opening day collection.
"Dhoom 3," a non-holiday release, has the higest opening day collection record with ₹36.22 crore, while "Chennai Express" released on Eid last year has the second highest opening day figure (₹33.12 crore).
Trade analysts and distributors too believe that the film has the potential to break the records as it is a Eid release featuring Salman.
"Surpassing 'Dhoom: 3's box office collection is not impossible but its tough. However, 'Kick' has tremendous production value and has been shot at foreign location. So, if there is one film that can surpass Dhoom: 3, then its Salman Khan's 'Kick.' Also, the film is coming during Eid, which is synonymous to Salman as most of his films have released around this period – be it 'Dabangg' or 'Ek Tha Tiger.' And they all have been blockbusters," exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi told Bollywoodlife.com.
Production Cost of Kick estimated to be about 105-110 croresPre release Profit for Producers : 15-20 crore estimated
